Can't Redownload Purchased Music/Videos in iTunes

Good day Apple community!

My wife and I relocated over 5 years ago. At the time, I had to change my ISP and as a result, had to create a new Apple ID.

I've purchased music and videos using both Apple IDs over the years and in fact, can see all purchases I've made in the past. However, if I were to loose any of the music/videos, the option to redownload them is not available in iTunes?

I've discussed this with Apple on a couple of occasions and I'm being told that there is nothing that can be done about it.

Is that really the case?

Thanks,

MB

Hello Midnight Blues,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We understand you want to know if you can download your purchased music in iTunes. We're happy to help.

The steps below will guide you through redownloading past music purchases.

"Redownload music in iTunes on your PC

Before you can redownload music that you purchased from the iTunes Store, you need to authorize your PC using your Apple ID.

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. From the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, choose Account > Purchased. If you use Family Sharing, you'll see Family Purchases instead of Purchased.
  3. Choose Music from the menu in the upper-left corner of the iTunes window.
  4. Find the music that you want to redownload. If you use Family Sharing, choose a family member next to Purchased to see their purchases.
  5. Click the download button Download button next to a song or album.

Don't see the music that you purchased?"

Redownload music

If you're not able to redownload the music in iTunes, let us know if you're getting any error messages or what happens when you try?

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

Take care!

Let me preface this by saying I'm very sorry that it took me so long to respond Ms. Greg (@dawngreg8), but I haven't had the chance to try the steps you've outlined until just now.

This was extremely helpful, but it didn't resolve my issue entirely. A number of years ago, using different OSs and iOSs, I deleted music videos from my iTunes library because they were taking-up too much space on my iPhone(s). I was, by following your instructions, able to redownload those, so thank you very much! However, I don't have the option to download music that I've purchased under a former Apple ID I was using at the time I made the purchase.

Incidentally, I didn't see "Music" to choose from in the upper left-hand corner?

Thank very much again, I greatly appreciate it!

Sincerely,

MB
