Apple Music playlists showing “Untitled Playlist” + not syncing library

for The past month. My Apple Music app on my iPhone 12 running iOS 16.6 hasn’t been working correctly. I have a bunch of playlists saved from Apple Music like “A-List Pop” for example. But it just shows up as “Untitled Playlist”. Plus every time I want to add a song, album, playlist, etc. to my library. It won’t show up. I tried contacting Apple Support and I feel like it’s something wrong with my phone or the software version. My Apple Music on my MacBook Pro (Mid 2020) & Apple TV 4K (1st Gen) works fine. But it’s my phone that has been having the issue. I tried turning it on and off and signing in and out of my Media & Purchases, but nothing seems to be working. The only way ik it works is if I shut off my phone for 5 minutes or more and sometimes it would work. I’m all out of ideas and I need figure out if there’s any other way to fix this issue and bring my Apple Music library back to normal.

Hi 00TheBee,

To help proceed with other options, we have a few questions.

  • What happens when you try to create a new test playlist? Can you name it and add songs?
  • Have you updated the software on your iPhone to iOS 16.6.1? This is the latest version of iOS and may help with resolving this issue. Before updating, be sure to back up. The guidance below will walk you through this:
Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

These steps are from Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support.

  • Does the same thing happen after updating the software?

Take care.

Hello 00TheBee,

It sounds like you're having an issue adding content and labeling your playlists on your iPhone with Apple Music. To start, make sure your iPhone has enough storage to save changes and new downloads. If needed, the article here can help you check: How to check the storage on your iPhone and iPad - Apple Support

If there's enough storage showing to download and save new content, make sure you're using the same Apple ID for apple Music that's signed into your Mac.

If all your settings are correct, test creating a new playlist with the steps here: Create playlists on iPhone, and be sure the option to sync library is turned on. If needed, you can find those steps here: Use Sync Library to access your music library across your devices - Apple Support

Hope the information helps.

Cheers.
