Crackly and broken up reception

The reception on many of my phone calls is terrible! I have a brand iPhone Pro 14. Most of these calls especially to businesses/government services where the person is wearing a headset are broken up. Today I had to use an Android phone as my phone sounded like someone was crumbling a bag in front of the agent’s headset. The reception on the Android was clear and I could hear the person fine. Also, many times the number pad won’t work when using an automated system as it doesn’t seem to detect the number pressed. Very infuriating when you’ve been on hold for a long time and then the system doesn’t recognize what you’ve entered. Anyone have any solutions?
