My Excel Does NOT open

I was trying to open excel and it wouldn't open. Here is the error that I get:

I've tried unistalling excel and installing it again and still doesn't work. I've also tried running Disk Utility on all volumes, containers and disks – all are correct –, and reinstalled macOS and still get the same error. Also used Time Machine to back up to a earlier version but still get the same error... don't know what else to try.

Along with CleanMyMac being installed which is known to cause multiple macOS issues, you also have NordVPN and Avast Antivirus, all of which also are known to cause strange and intermittent problems.

I highly recommend you remove all of those. Go to each of their websites and follow their instructions for how to uninstall their products. Don't just drag them to the trash bin.

When you installed these darned things, it was not just the applications, but also their system extensions; there are NOT removed if you simply "uninstall" by dragging the applications to the trash.

Fortunately, at least, the one from avast is not running, because it would have needed your authorization, and you did not grant it:

[Waiting for authorization] Avast Antivirus Network Extension - version 11.1.280 (AVAST Software a.s.)

        Application: /Applications/Avast.app - version 11.1.280 (Not found!)

But the one from NordVPN is running.

Please post the whole report so we can give more specific advice.

Yes, I've done that and it doesn't work. But I think I might got it. I created a new user account and excel opens just fine. I guess I should migrate everything from my current user account to the new one. Do you know how to do this correctly? I have files in my icloud account and my onedrive account. Guess the onedrive is just log in and done. For the icloud account, should I sign out on my curret user and log in on the new one? Any other tips? Thanks

I run the app and this is what I got:

MAJOR ISSUES:

System Extensions:

[Running] NordVPN Threat Protection - version 1.0.51 (Nordvpn S.A.)

        Application: /Applications/NordVPN.app - version 1.0.51 (Not found!)

Description: System extension is used to scan files downloaded from the internet for malware.

[Waiting for authorization] Avast Antivirus Network Extension - version 11.1.280 (AVAST Software a.s.)

        Application: /Applications/Avast.app - version 11.1.280 (Not found!)

Don't know why I have NordVPN and Antivirus, as I have neither app now (I uninstalled them some time ago)
