spam?

I'm getting a notice that identifies as coming from my system settings stating that I have 5 potential viruses and that I need to update or renew my antivirus software. I don't recall installing antivirus software, but have owned this laptop for several years. Is there some kind of spam like this going around.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 13.5

Windows virus alert on MacBook? Windows defender alert on MacBook Air, “Virus Alert 0xxx” saying computer is affected and data will be deleted and virus will spread” I’m Assuming a scam or something anyone know of a remedy?
