Updating games

shouldn’t need a credit card to update games that I’ve already downloaded. What the heck? My son purchased things couple years ago without my knowledge, and I’m not paying it. Don’t have it, plus it was unauthorized. FREE UPDATES AND DOWNLOADS should be FREE. How can we fix this? I’m trying to update Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory game so my friends and I can send Lives to each other. Please advise. Thanks

You can download free apps, but you may need to have a valid payment method on file, even if the app you want to download is free.

Free apps has also In-app pruchase.

Add a payment method

You may need to have a valid payment method on file, even if the app you want to download is free.

Add a payment method

If you want to change your card, you need to add first the new card, then remove the old card.
or if you want to use your Apple Account balance, you need to set your Apple Account balance as your default payment.
