When I insert a shape into a document, for example an arrow , I will need to change the length, position or angle of course. Approximately 80% of the time when I do this the shape jumps to the next page in the document and I have to drag it back. This does not happen all the time, I have tried changing the text wrap settings but this doesn't seem to make a difference. Any ideas please?

After you insert the shape, visit the Arrange tab and set text wrap to None. Now the shape will not move, and in the case of the arrow shape, you can manipulate it in place. There is no Pages setting to make text wrap None the default for inserted objects.

I had the same problem. I fixed it by selecting ARRANGE - Object Placement - Stay On Page, and selecting Text Wrap to 'None'. Now I can tweak arrow sizes and position without it jumping to the next page.
Yes, some other shape without text wrap None may be repelling your line shape, but in practice, once I disable text wrap, I can do what I want to the line without repositioning consequences.

Thanks again, there must be something repelling my shape as you say. Its a shame a default of no text wrap can't be set.
