Weird Charging port smell

My phone has water damage and it has a weird charging port smell, not a burning smell but just a really foul odor. The phone has been powered off for a month now and I barely charge it. I still see traces of water inside the phone.

How do I fix a water-damaged iPhone charging port? recently, I had an incident where I got a little water in the charging port what do I do? My iPhone 15 Pro Max giving we water in charging port warning So, my 15promax started giving we a water in charging port warning. Phone is 3months old. It’s never been in water and lives 90% of the time in a waterproof case. Brought it to the service center and they said the charging pet is corroded. Called Apple and they clim it’s because I live in a humid climate ( Eastern Canada) anybody have any fixes or have the same experience? All my other iPhones have been near water, dropped in pools, generally abused without ANY Problems. Is this a thing with the new usb-c charging ports? Visit an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Reseller in your region for assistance to diagnose the problem.

And they could offer a possible solution.

(perhaps) You will first have to make an appointment due to the pandemic.
