Thread/Matter - HomeKit

For those having problems, it is the Matter upgrade for HomeKit accessories - HomePods etc.

Once you upgrade to Matter on your iPhone/iPad/Homepod then you lose your HomeKit on your Mac if you are running an older OS (Monterey in my case).

I found this out after I purchased an EVE Energy plug. If you go to the Eve site it states that once you upgrade your HomePods etc to MATTER then you can no longer go back and HomeKit to older Macs will not work! Unfortunately I found this out too late and the information is a little buried on the EVE site - try the BLOG.

Needless to say, I cannot get the plug to work apart from just two occasions initially, then no Thread network which runs through the HomePods...

I am finding EVE support pretty poor.

One suggestion is to disconnect all thread border routers for 5 minutes. Reset your Eve Matter plug by holding the on/off button 10 seconds. Plug in 1 thread border router only. Configure the Eve Matter plug. How many thread devices do you have? They have a 25-30 foot range, but this isnt true if you live in a cement block home...less by what margin? When you build out a smart home you are in for many hours of trouble shooting. None of the devices Ive tried seem to work out of the box without some trials. Logitech Circle View is the exception!
