Preview does not show all drop shadows
On opening a pdf with drop shadows in preview, only some are shown. Adober Reader does show them.

Preview does not support all PDF content because of the age of its PDF framework. Adobe is able to keep Reader current with the latest PDF updates so in most cases, when Preview fails, Reader succeeds.
