In FCP the library I have cinematic filmed on iPhone , it is vibrant and powerfully looking.
Once dropped into time line the image becomes dull.
What options are there to see the same vibrant library view?
Does that make sense ?

Hi guys, thank you for the inputs. I have watched these videos long ago. (re watched again) Video's maybe out of date now. Time moved on, Software updates etc. I did try the methods in the videos. However thought this is way too long winded methods. I called apple care. He watched what I did. Said do not drag drop cinematic video.
It will convert into SDR. Import with arrow, this give you HDR and it did. He suggested maybe do not use image capture when I bring in videos shot in cinematic mode. Use Photos app.

The video has been shot HDR. Make sure the library is set to wide gamut in library properties and make sure the project is also set to HDR.
Cinematic can be either HDR or SDR.
Cinematic should be Air Dropped from the phone to the Mac. Make sure Options are set to Current and All Photos Data is switched on. You have to do this every time. Image Capture is easier as long as you select the correct file. Not the E file.
Of course you can also use the FCP import window.

Hi Tom, I often would airdrop and understand the methods. Issues for me occur once I am 10 gigs over. The other day pro res vids came to 72 gigs as an example. Anyone else reading. The issues I have had are do not drag drop with importing. Re HDR cinematic videos.
