iPhone 13 Pro Max typing in Text area every time I set the phone down

Why does my iPhone 13 Pro Max type every word I say whenever I set the phone down. I have looked at all the online solutions and none of those features are activated. What am I missing? This happens after I text someone and set the phone down. A few minutes later, I look at the phone and there is a gigantic scroll of words it has been typing. VERY embarrassing if I should accidentally hit send while trying to delete 1200 words! There has got to be a solution to this. I do like the microphone button in the text area if I prefer to voice text, but the iPhone is doing it all by itself!! So annoying!

Hello Peter Mars,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities and for sharing these details with us. Sounds like your iPhone is typing out the words you speak. If so, we can assist by recommending some settings you can check on your device to help further isolate this behavior. Let's follow the steps below:

1.) Check to see if VoiceOver is enabled on your iPhone: Turn on and practice VoiceOver on iPhone - Apple Support

2.) You might also want to check and confirm if Spoken Content features are enabled: Use Typing Feedback on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If both features are off, try refreshing things by restarting your iPhone. This can sometimes help resolve unexpected issues: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

Lastly, if you have any pending updates, please install them. This can usually help with unique issues, since updates include fixes. Just in case, this link can guide you through the update process: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

1.)Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2.)Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3.)Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4.) If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5.) Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do: If you forgot your iPhone passcode - Apple Support

We hope this helps you. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Take care.

VoiceOver is Off - Spoken Content has Speak Selection and Speak Screen turned On, neither should affect typing my voice or whatever is playing on the TV, or other voices in the room. There are 2 Microphone symbols displayed on my screen. 1 is in the Text Area, the other is at the bottom of the screen, and when this auto-typing occurs, I notice a 3rd, larger, floating Microphone Symbol shows up.

I do like the ability to use the microphone for Text dictation, but only when I touch the Text Area microphone. This strange, random auto-typing happens periodically and the only way to get it to stop is to touch the screen someplace outside the text area, or swipe the text area down. Then of course I have to delete a huge number of unwanted words in the text area.
