how do i unlock an older moldel ipad that has been dialbeled that will not let me entert a pass code or enter it into the system

I have a older model I pad that i git as a gift and after the last update that it received it has self-locked itself and the passcode I had no longer works. I never put a limitation on the pass code and now it is disabled. It has been working in perfect condition. Now it does not want to connect to itunes.

A forgotten or unknown iPhone/iPad passcode cannot be recovered - and neither can it be reset or modified from another device. If you see a waiting period you can wait and try again to input the correct Passcode; otherwise, the iPad must be restored.

You will be able to restore data from a pre-existing iCloud backup without the use of a computer, but will require a PC/Mac to restore data from an iTunes backup.

iPadOS 15.1 and earlier - and all devices that are Disabled

If your iPhone/iPad indicates that it is disabled/unavailable/locked-out, or you have forgotten your iPad passcode, you have no alternative other than to follow this process:

I know the pass code but it will not let me enter it. It went a disabled it self. I had shut it down that night and when I went to go use it again. The screen stated iPad disabled please connect to I tunes. I connected it to itunes. The system stated because its locked it will not connect. I had literally used just 2 night before it went and did this non sense. None of the stuff on the website is any use I can't even force a hard reboot to wipe it so I can use it again.

Yes, the iPad is now disabled due to repeated entry of a Passcode that is not recognised by the iPad. As such, you must follow the appropriate process for your iPad model - as fully described in my previous reply - to restore the iPad to a working state.

Simply connecting the iPad to a Windows PC or Mac computer will not resolve the problem. You must follow the process.

First thing i said was it locked it self after i turned it off one night after using it. Why would my ipad disable itself after I just sucsessfully used it. All of the attachments that you put are for newer models only with newer IOS.... mine is only capable for i pad 2 IOS 9. Ipad model 2's are unable to download anything higher ios 9 due to its old tech. From the research I have done. My iPad is now locked for life and is now unusable. Your responses may be valid only to the point of newer models not older models. I thank for the info but this is getting me nowhere.
