Gmail authorisation error 400

I can get gmail on my iPhone and iPad but not on my Mac, where I get the Authorisation Error message Error 400:Invalid_request and I can’t get past it. It started a month ago..I think I may have put in an incorrect password when they were telling me I needed to purchase more storage..but I can’t quite remember...

The process to add a gmail account to my Mac Apple Mail application fails I use Apple mail to consolidate email accounts on different services, including my gmail account. Everything was fine until I changed my password on the gmail account recently. Things seemed to work fine on my iPad and iPhone, but not on my iMac. When I launched the mail application on the Mac it told me I had to enter my password for my gmail account. I clicked to do this and was taken to a small google window in the browser. (I'm using Safari.) After filling in my account information (email address) and password (both verified by using them also to directly log in at google), I was asked to verify that this is me by opening the Google app on my phone. I did this and clicked the confirmation button. Back in the browser the small window redrew — indicating that google had received the confirmation from the Google app on my phone. It offers to send login information "to Mac OS." There are two buttons, cancel and continue. I clicked continue... and got a 400 error from Google. I tried this multiple times with the same result. Thinking that resetting everything might help I deleted the gmail account entirely on the Mac and used the accounts page to Create it again. I clicked the Google link in the window and it took me to the same series of browser windows... with the exact same results. I tried restarting the computer and repeating the process... with the same result — the 400 error. I'm at a loss and would really appreciate any input on this.

Can't access GMail account on my Mac using Mail I use Mail on my iPhone XS iOS 17.2.1 and on my MacBook Air MacOS Monterey 12.7.2 to access 2 Gmail accounts. Recently Mail on my Mac showed one of my accounts was offline although it was fine on my iPhone and via the web. Whenever I followed the instructions to correct it via Connection Doctor I end up with the message "400. That’s an error. The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know." I eventually deleted the account on Mac Mail but am unable to add it again as I still get the same message. I have tried contacting Google support at 650 253 0000 and the 844 # but the Bot just sends me down the same path and if I force it to get me to a human it rings forever with no answer. I'd appreciate any help to fix my problem or tell me how to reach a live person at Google. Maybe I should just get an iCloud account for my mail but I dread all that it entails to change over.

You'll need to talk to Google.

If you recall and error in keying something, that's not a Mac problem, that's something you'll need to ask Google about how to clear..
