MacBook Air screen dimming

Continuing to dim despite turning off auto-adjust in display settings. Just resets to mid level brightness every time I turn on. Other settings I should look at?

Light keeps dimming on my Macbook Air I have gone to "displays" and unchecked "automatically adjust brightness" the way some have said that I should but it is not working. The computer just keeps dimming without me touching a thing. If I close it up and come back the settings are right back at the halfway dimmed default. Please help me before I throw it somewhere lol

MacBook Pro Screen Dims to Half Brightness When Unplugged, Even with Dim Setting Off Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my MacBook Pro (macOS Sequoia Version 15.0.1) where the display brightness automatically dims to about half whenever I unplug the charger. I've already disabled the "Slightly dim the display on battery" option in settings, so it seems like the brightness should stay the same on battery power, but it doesn’t. Has anyone else experienced this or know a fix? Any advice would be appreciated!

My problem was just the opposite, mine kept going to 100% brightness.

The workaround was a piece of black tape covering the ambient light sensor.

Eventually an OS update fixed that little bug. If you're not on the latest OS your Mac can run, you need to upgrade/update as is appropriate.
