I'm looking to see the color bit depth of clips that I am working in are 8-bit or 10-bit. If the file is recorded in HEVC the QuickTime "Info" panel shows the bit rate (first attachment), but some other formats do not show a bit depth in the "info" panel (second attachment).
Is there an app or something that will show me all of the data of a movie file?
See attached. 2 different files and one does not show Bit Depth from QuickTime.
Check the movie codec details with Invisor (my favorite because it has an option to highlight differences between movies) or MediaInfo.
Check the movie metadata details with exiftool command like (the dot at the end means "this folder"):
exiftool -a -G1 -s -n -api LargeFileSupport=1 -api QuickTimeUTC=1 .

I found it. Sony's Catalyst Browse shows color bit depth on any video file I open (regardless of camera used).
H.264 AVC would be 8-bit anyway.
You would need H.265 HEVC (or an intermediate editing codec) to encode as 10-bit.
I don't need to compare, I just need to verify that movies I am using are 10-bit and not 8-bit for my colorist.
I am aware of that. This were just 2 files as an example. I was referring to a wider range of file types that QT doesn't always show the bit depth for.
