Mac Studio can't communicate with my Epson scanner

Hi

On a Mac Studio running Ventura 13.5.1 I have this problem with my new Epson ET-4856:

When I want to scan:

I connect FROM my Epson by pressing a button, with the name of my Mac Studio
The scanner software from Epson launch, but with a dialog telling me, that it wasn't possible to communicate with the scanner - button is "ok"
When I press ok anew dialog opens and ask me to select a scanner. My scanner is already selected and I click OK again.
Now I click the scanner button again on my EPSON, and the whole story repeat!

I have a Mac Book Pro running Big Sur 11.7.8 and here the connection and communication works as expected: when the MBP is selected on the EPSON and I press scan, the scanning is started and it works.

Printing works fine on both set-up, but what is it with Ventura that blocks my EPSON?

I'm sorry this was not helpful. As I wrote in my post: the printer prints fine! But the bidirectional connection to the scanner doesn't work.

So the printer can print! But I can't use the scan function when the scan is started from the ET-4856. I can start the scan from Epson app. but that will NOT allow me to use the ADF function, that I need.

Can it be something with the Security?
