It has a speaker but it doesn’t have a microphone.
If you have some headphones with microphone like those used with older iPhones, those will work.
If you have a recent iPhone you may be able to use it as your camera and microphone.
You may also use a usb microphone, or a microphone with a 3.5mm jack, but beware that most of those may require a little adapter.
So what brand/kind of display are you using? For example the Studio Display has both a camera and a mic built in. Launch System Settings->Sound->Input and see if anything shows up.
Okay, we've explained to you what is going on. Except for the iMac line desktop Macs have never had built-in microphones. If this is unacceptable you have 14 days to return the Mac Studio for a full refund.

have an LG monitor I didint want to put out the cash for an apple display
