How do i put new photos on my mac without the older photos being included?
When i try to upload new photos, the older ones automatically download as well. Is there a setting that i can use so that only the new photos download?

Hi MadyMusic,
Are you using the Photos app to import photos from a device? If so, as seen in step 6 here Import photos from a camera or phone using Photos on Mac you have an option to import all new photos or just selected photos.
If it is the case that you have done this and still see duplicates, you can follow Remove duplicate photos in Photos on Mac.
