I have an old wireless keyboard that I can't connect to my Mac Mini. All of the advice mentions turning on the Bluetooth, which I can't do because my keyboard won't connect.

The only way to get into my computer is with the keyboard, but I don't know how to connect it.

Scrounge a wired keyboard.

Or if this is an Apple rechargeable keyboard, connect the Lightning charging cable to both the keyboard and host.

It seems that getting a different keyboard in order to set up a wireless keyboard is a pretty inefficient way of doing things. I wonder why Apple doesn't have a better solution.

Mac will work with pretty much any wired keyboard, any USB-A or USB-C connector issues aside.

The wireless keyboard provided with recent Apple systems can also be wired, and that wiring also pairs the Bluetooth keyboard as needed.

When no keyboard is associated with a Mac at install time and likely other times, it usually starts looking for a nearby wireless keyboard set up for pairing.
