Sync my Mac Studio and Mac Mini

Hello, I have a mac mini and a mac studio....

and sometimes I take the macmini to another place, far from the mac studios, which is the main one where I work.

My question is that if it is possible, that everything. whatever is working on the macstudio is being updated in real time, at least one complete folder, so that when I turn on the macmini, I have all my work there.

How could you synchronize in both at least one folder so that both have the same job?

please.

thank you.

Using iCloud Drive makes this automatic. If you are logged in to the same Apple ID on both macs, you have access to all the same folders in iCloud Drive. Of course, you have to take into account the space. The free tier allows for only 5GB, and that includes other stuff like photos, if you use iCloud for that. However, a 50GB tier is only a dollar a month (which is what I pay Apple for this sort of benefit).

You could do that, but it is a terrible nuisance and it takes a long time to migrate everything. To do this every other I don’t think you could put up with the hassle for long.

I’d set this up once - to insure they start identically: set up one of the macs exactly as desired, then do a Time Machine backup and use it to set up the other.

Then anything that is to shared I’d use iCloud. Easy and painless.

Installing a new application or a software update twice instead of once is much less work than erasing one of the macs and migrating from the other. Just saying.

Thank you for the video.

Now we know for sure that iCloud Drive is not what's using this space.

Maybe there is some delay in syncing information?

I am running out of ideas. On my mac, the amount that is shown as "documents" in icloud agrees with the size seen in iCloud Drive. I don't know where else this could be.

Other items like photos, mail, even device backups, are accounted for separately, so they are not it either.
