Apple TV 4K deactivates HDMI Arc Soundbar

I use an LG G2 TV, now and then in conjunction with Apple TV 4K. Unfortunately, I noticed that Apple TV adjusts something so that the soundbar including rear speakers are no longer connected the next time I turn on the TV and also can not be selected. The only thing that helps is to disconnect the power of the TV for a few minutes and then reconnect it. Then everything works again and the soundbar can be selected again. This only happens with Apple TV 4K. I have tested 2 months without Apple TV on this device, as soon as i Connect Apple TV and Watch somenthing, the soundbar is no longer available. What could be the reason for this? The correct modes are all selected, all firmware versions are up to date.

I had a very similar problem that I have now fixed. I think when the ATV was going into sleep mode it was somehow disconnecting the soundbar from the tv. I was powering down the tv like you to get it to work.

I noticed that the HDMI was actually not being picked up as ATV on the input menu either.

I unplugged the ATV and left it for a few minute then reconnected. Now the HDMI was recognising that it had an ATV connected. Since then I have not had any issues.

I recommend trying the same thing. Hope it works because this was driving me crazy.

Hello maxi275,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We see you have some questions about your Apple TV disconnecting from your sound bar, and we'd like to help. The following link may be able to assist, as it walks through how to use accessories with your Apple TV: Use Bluetooth accessories with your Apple TV - Apple Support

If you can't pair a Bluetooth accessory or if it loses connectivity
Follow these steps. After each step, see if you still need help.
1. Make sure that you're in range of your Apple TV and there isn't interference in the area.
2. Check that your accessory is fully charged and powered on.
3. Make sure that the software on your Bluetooth accessory and your Apple TV is up to date. For example, if you have Beats wireless headphones, check for firmware updates.
4. Move your Apple TV to a different location near your television.
5. Look for your accessory in Settings > Remotes and Devices > Bluetooth. If you see it but you can’t connect to it, use the steps above to unpair your accessory. Then try to pair it again.
6. If you need more help connecting or using a Bluetooth accessory with your Apple TV, contact the manufacturer of the accessory.

Let us know if this helps.

Regards.

I am using LG C3 TV, I also have the similar symptoms, I have test two soundbar, every time turn on the TV , I only have 50% to auto activate the soundbar to output sound. When I turn off and go to work and come back home, I turn on the TV , the soundbar will have to indicate light and no sound. Until I unplugged other HDMI devices the soundbar get back normal and fast respond, than I plug the device on it except Apple TV, it also no problem.

than I plug the Apple TV back, the screen appear “Apple TV HDMI-CEC control …” something like that, and I have not noticed that than I sleep until this morning, I turn on my TV, the symptoms come back, so I unplug the Apple TV again and try tonight back home.
