Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

I always set my notification preview as “never.” And when I meed to read the message without actually tap into the app, I can just drag down the pop-up notification to show the content. However, recently I found the notification stop showing the message when I drag it down. It shows “you have a new message.”

How to fix this? Is this the problem from newest iOS? (my phone is iOS 16.6)

I think that it would be better to change the Messages notification to "when unlocked" rather than "never", in a way that once you unlock your iPhone with Face ID the entire message appears without the need to scroll it down.

Anyway, this problem may depend on the notifications mode, try to switch between the three main modes:
