THE CONTENTS OF THE IPHONE COULD NOT BE READ Problem
Hello everybody, this is Giovanni (Giopad65) from Italy.
I found a previous thread dated 2021 about the same problem, but is wasn't effective in helping me solving the problem.
This is the situation.
I am using a 2019 iMac running Ventura 13.5.1, which has updated software and is regularly turned off.
I also have a recently purchased iPhone 14 Pro running iOS 16.6. It is also updated and is turned off from time to time.
I have a problem when connecting the iPhone to the iMac and trying to surfing it via Finder.
What I get is the **** error message:
I have tried the following:
1) change the USB cable > same problem
2) change the USB port in the iMac > same problem
3) restore the iPhone to factory setting > same problem
4) restart both iMac and iPhone > same problem
5) restart the iMac in safe mode > same problem.
Please note that
1) if I connect my daughter's iPhone XR it works flawlessly
2) if I connect my iPhone to the iMac and then run the "Photo" app, the iPhone is correctly detected and I can transfer the pictures to the computer.
I am very disappointed, because Apple has always had its strenght in the ability to make "ecosystem" from its devices, which doesn't seem to be this case.
Any hints? I really don't know what else I can try to do.
Thank you in advance to everybody.
iPhone XR, iOS 16
