.iCloud, .me and .Mac endings of email addresses

In case I have created an icloud account on or after 19-Sep-2012, will an email sent erroneously using a .me at the end be automatically re-routed?

Lately it seems it's been peddled to some spammers, and I receive thousands of obscene emails every week. I'd like to associate a new email with my AppleID and eventually close down the spammed @mac.com address, but I don't want to lose the alias I created that is associated with it until I can be sure I no longer need it. I can't get a straight answer from Apple about what happens to that email address (and the alias attached to it) when I am no longer using it as an AppleID email address. Can anyone enlighten me? And how will I access it? On the web?

Hide my email changes senders' email addresses Hi, I noticed that sender's email address is modified when I get an email to Hide My Email alias. Let's say it should be john.doe@gmail.com, but I receive as john.doe_at_google_com_<some_hash>@icloud.com. Why is it like that? Can the email contain the original email address? Thanks in advance!
