Spouse’s AirTag Track alerts - Pause Indefinitely option not available

There are a number of similar conversations here, none of which have been resolved, but due to timing out it isn't possible to continue those conversations. My wife and I have been traveling all summer, and every time we step out of the house I get alerts that her airtag is following me (because we are walking around the city together and the airtag is in her bag). I can pause notifications for this airtag, but only the option to pause "today" appears - not the one to pause "indefinitely." We are both signed into iCloud and in the same family sharing group. Other family sharing features are working. Just not this one. Like I said I am far from the only one with this problem if you search for it in the forums - there just don't seem to be any solutions other than to notify Apple of the problem and hope that they fix it. (I will also fill out the feedback form on the support website.)
