Macbook pro max m2 16' , the battery that flies away!

Hi everyone, I just bought my macbook a couple of months ago and the battery is already at a 95% life after only 41 charge cycles, I use it maniacally and I am very careful with the usage, it seems to me though that the battery is leaking too fast and I don't like that since I invested a lot for this mac. I'm monitoring it and in just 2 days the battery capacity has dropped quite a bit. I don't like it, what should I do? Under what terms is it possible to evaluate the battery as defective or substandard?

95% is a good number and it may stay there for months as battery degradation is non linear. Cycle count has nothing to do with remaining capacity.

You battery is not leaking unless you see battery chemicals oozing outside the case or the case is obviously swollen. It's just slowly being consumed and it is in reality a consumable.

Turn battery optimization on and leave it on. Your battery and its charging circuitry will manage the battery's health far better than any human will.

There is nothing to do as nothing has failed. Apple does not do preventative maintenance. When remaining capacity gets to 80%, Apple advises the battery be replaced. Have Apple do that.

I post my advice about it being a battery-capable computer, because some users really do not know that. The only other Apple device they have is an iPhone, and they assume they should charge it once a day, and are genuinely fearful that they might over-charge it otherwise.

You are completely welcome to use that tool ANY way you see fit.

If you come back after two years and whine that your battery is 'service now' status, when you ran the battery low day after day after day, I would consider that a self-inflicted wound.

I thank you for the responses but I believe that in front of a presentation of a high-end product where clearly battery performance expressed in hours and power is displayed as a "workhorse," when I buy such a product, I expect to have that performance. Here we are not talking about percentage as an end in itself, we are talking about battery draw and time of reduced life after only 40 cycles. There are too many things that are unclear with respect to how the battery is intelligently managed, on the various forums there are so many things that are said and there is no common ground, "don't charge it above 80%, don't discharge it below 20%" etc etc... I would like to be able to use my macbook pro max comfortably without having anxieties of such rapid deterioration, I repeat, I have owned a macbook pro for 10 years, and the battery did not go down so quickly, regardless of the testing software that, as you say, is not always so reliable. Having said that as a consumer I believe I have the right, and as an Apple enthusiast and devotee, the duty to communicate my appreciation or not, to the product purchased.
