What is the difference between "All Mail" vs my Gmail inbox?

I have a few more emails in my All Mail box than in Gmail. What’s up with that? What is the difference in Mail between Inbox and All Mail?

There is nothing called All Mail.

The iOS Mail app has a feature called "All Inboxes" and a standard "Inbox." These features were designed to help users manage their email accounts more efficiently. Here are the key differences between "All Inboxes" and "Inbox" in the iOS Mail app as of that time:

  1. All Inboxes:
    1. Unified View: When you select "All Inboxes," the Mail app displays a unified view of all your email accounts. This means that you can see emails from all your configured email accounts in a single list. This is particularly useful if you have multiple email accounts and want to see all your emails in one place.
    2. No Separation: There's no separation between different email accounts in the "All Inboxes" view. Emails from all accounts are mixed together based on their received timestamps, making it easier to see all incoming messages chronologically.
  2. Inbox:
    1. Individual Account View: When you select an individual account's "Inbox," you are taken to the inbox of that specific email account. This view allows you to focus on the emails for that particular account.
    2. Account Separation: The "Inbox" view keeps emails from different email accounts separate. You will only see emails from the selected account in this view.

In summary, the primary difference between "All Inboxes" and "Inbox" in the iOS Mail app is that "All Inboxes" provides a unified view of all your email accounts, while "Inbox" shows you the emails specific to the currently selected email account. This can help users manage multiple email accounts more effectively by allowing them to switch between a consolidated view and an individual account view.
