cant you send it in? i have seen a lot of people say they ordered their phone and had to send it in...

btw... if you are in a country where they dont sell them how did you buy yours and why are you saying you can no longer return it?

if you had a window to return then you can still exchange... what you are saying contradicts itself...

Excuse me, but he was on topic. Plenty of people come here making statements they think are true ("I can't return it", for example) only to find out they can.

We are not mind readers so it is reasonable - and helpful - to follow up on your statement in case you were unaware of your options.

In short, Himoura was trying to help you. All you need do is explain why you can't return it, if that is the case.

@JPBOSS Give me a break man and read the question carefully.
I wa interested to know if the PROXIMITY SENSOR (<~ see? On topic!) was only happening to this whom have or had a jailbroken device!?! It a simple question?!?

@himoura to clear it out again. I purchased the phone online without any reciepts or warranty. As we do not have iPhones in the country I'm in, there is no service for them. My models from week 30 if that makes a difference.

Question @ all those iphone 4 users having issues with the PS:

If you had the choice, would you buy now or would you wait for the white model or the next generation, respectively.
In other words, how big is the chance of getting a flawed device when buying now. A friend of mine returned his due to problems with the PS; her iphone was 100% useless in terms of what it is supposed to do: handling calls...

I think if you could confirm you were getting a >42 week built phone I think you would be fine. I have two >42 week i4's one 16GB(work) and one >42 week 32GB i4 and both are identical both screen-wise and PS.

I am now recommending the i4 to family and friends. I was previously recommending them go with 3Gs until I could confirm that PS issue was laid to rest.

Good luck,

JP

I mean he clearly admits, "... I purchased the phone online without any reciepts or warranty..." then doesn't grasp the concept that he assumed the risk of getting a faulty phone and being SOL and then expects some magic to happen and get's testy with everyone offering suggestions. Sounds like a case of "entitlement mentality."

JPBOSS: Your probably some yuppie (who probably works for Apple) without a life picking on people whom don't have the privileges as you might have to purchase their phones through the proper means, but end up having to resort to purchasing it online with the hopes and TRUST that been an Apple product it would work properly as did my 3g and 3GS before that.. seeing as they're not sold where I'm from YES i do admit it was a risk, but i doubt the 150+ post on the topic are due from people whom purchased their phones online, right?! :))

The week it was made does not make a difference when returning the phone, what really matter is the date stamp on your receipt.

Also if there is no iphone in your country, how in the world did you order it online? The only thing I can think of is that you bought it online where they sell iphones? such as U.K or Canada or Singapore? Or even any apple online store that sells factory unlocked?

Dec 3, 2010 2:54 PM in response to Kwopau

Yes, i bought it online from a guy whom buys then from the U.K. I think..
I know the production week isn't for warranty purposes, but just info for others that are also having the PS issue to use to compair.
Thinking of selling my phone now, as I cannot understand how Apple managed to release so many faulty iPhones without proper tests. My old 3GS was excellent, except for the fact it had smaller memory.
Should have gone on Android instead..but have become so used to iPhones that i just can't use any other phone anymore!
Plus, even if I were to jump the bandwagon and change, the issue then remains, what about the micro sim card? It was hard enough trying to get it in the first place let alone trying to get a normal one back again.. ;(
