Apple forum search result redirecting to Apple log in

I was doing a search on this forum for “malwarebytes ios”, filtered by last year, and on the second page at the bottom was this post:

I clicked on it as was interested what it was but I was redirected to an Apple login page (I wasn’t currently logged in). I didn’t log in as thought that was weird when I hadn’t been asked on any other posts I’d clicked on.

Is it just a glitch? Or a dodgy link? I wouldn’t have thought so, being an Apple search result, but who knows!

Thanks for your help.

It's a bug in Apple's discussion forum software. The moderators obviously deleted that post. You can see the original content in a Google cache. It contained lots of screenshots. The screenshots aren't in the cache, but I'm sure they were enough to warrant deletion.

Unfortunately, Apple is still indexing and serving this page through the search functionality. That shouldn't happen.

We are not moderators but other end users so cannot give you an exact answer. Search should not turn up deleted threads, but search here has always been an "adventure" in the 20+ years I've participated.

Have you tried a second time? Sometimes the forum software is a petulant child.

To see if it is not deleted, try a site-delimited web search:

site:discussions.Apple.com Traintack

and add the year.

If that does not help, there is contact information for the mods in the forum Use Agreement we had to sign when we jouned ASC.

Thanks for your response - appreciate it.

I did that search and the post is there - it’s only from a few weeks ago. So I’ve contacted support, as recommended, so they can see if there’s an issue.

I’m not really that fussed about viewing the post, just wanted to make sure that it couldn’t have somehow been a dodgy link I clicked! Although having looked further at the link, going to an “https idmsa apple dot com” web page, I can’t imagine it is.
