iPhone 14 won’t connect with 2014 Honda hands-free link

Apple doesn’t seem to be helpful in solving this, simply that the new phone won’t connect with the old Bluetooth system. Has anybody found a way to upgrade their sound on their Honda? I have a 2014 CRV and no one at Apple seems to be helpful in solving this, simply that the new phone won’t connect with the old Bluetooth car system. Has anybody found a way to upgrade their sound on their Honda? I have a 2014 CRV and no one told me this would happen!

Hello MBinGT,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. We'd like to help out. For steps on how to connect your iPhone to your car using Bluetooth, please click here: How to connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your car - Apple Support

Connect using Bluetooth
1. Restart your device.
2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, and turn off Bluetooth. Wait for about 5 seconds, then turn Bluetooth back on.
3. Check the manual that came with your car for more information on how to pair with a Bluetooth device. Most cars require a phone setup on the car display.
4. If you've connected multiple phones to your car stereo, try renaming your device: Go to Settings > General > About > Name, and type a new name. Then try connecting again.
5. Update your device.
6. Make sure that your stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.

You did mention that you're not able to connect due to an old Bluetooth system that might not be compatible with your device. If this is the case, you might want to consider reaching out to your car manufacture. They might have firmware updates available for your car.

We hope this information helps you. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Take care.
