iPhone 12 - wired headphones work with all media except for phone calls

I have been using Koss headphones via a lightning adapter plug-in. Just this week, they quit working for phone calls but still work for all other media (music etc.) I have checked with Apple support but they cannot figure this out. Any ideas? Thank you.

I am guessing it is a simple fix, as the headphones work fine with YouTube and other apps, just not with phone calls or voicemails. I have powered down & restarted, looked in Settings, and pulled down the upper-right menu which gives me choices of speaker and other devices in my home - but I am not finding a way to direct the phone to the headphones. Anyone know the fix for this?

Phone calls coming out of speaker not headset with audio jack/ lightening adapter I'm trying to use my headphones for phone calls on my iPhone 8. I'm using an audio jack to lightning adapter that’s supposed to be Apple Certified!! I can hear music fine, but when I go to make a phone call/ WhatsApp/ FaceTime call, the audio only comes out of the phone and not the headphones. This is so frustrating! I just need to know whether the problem is the phone, the adapter or the headset…. Otherwise I don’t know which to change… has anyone found a solution to this/ know an adapter that works?

Wired headphone problems So lately I’ve been trying to use my headphones to do things like listen to music, take calls, etc… And I’ve found that when there is no audio output my iPhone XR will show that headphones are connected, but after a few seconds of media playing through the headphones the phone will automatically switch to loud speaker, without pausing the media like it usually would. I have the apple wired headphones so there’s no cross branding, and everything was fine a couple of days ago. is there a way to fix this? is this a problem on apple’s end? will the world be taken over by toast? we may never know…

Since Apple doesn't own Koss, contact Koss for help with their headphones.
