Migrating WhatsApp from Android to IOS

Hi, I have been trying to migrate my WhatsApp chats from my android device to my brand new IPhone 13 using the Move to IOS app. I’ve done several and very slow attempts (8-9 hours). The transfer seems to stall forever when the remaining time to complete is 1 minute.

After cancelling the transfer I noticed that on my Iphone there was an indication that instead of moving only WhatsApp (as per my selection), it was trying to transfer all of my apps and data from my android, which would be an enormous amount of data of course.

I suspect this is why the transfer is so slow. Any one got a clue as to why the app tries to transfers everything despite the fact that I select to transfer only WhatsApp?

I gave up. The frustrating bit is that Move to IOS is an Apple App designed (also) for that, but doesn’t seem to do the trick properly (I’ve seen several others complaining about the same).

Unfortunately, WhatsApp is not an Apple product, and it doesn’t work the way other apps work, so you will need help from Meta to resolve this.
