I have an aftermarket carplay system in a 2008 Honda Odyssey. I have two iphones, an XR and a 12 Mini. They have many of the same apps. When I hook the 12 Mini to the carplay system 15 apps are available. When I hook up the XR, only 7 apps are available. Why don't all the same apps appear when using the XR? And the IOS is up to date.

Ensure that the iPhone XR is running on the same iOS as the iPhone 12 Mini. The latest iOS version is iOS 16.6.

On the iPhone XR, double check the following in settings:
Open Settings ➡️ General ➡️ CarPlay ➡️ Tap on your car’s system name ➡️ Customize : Here you will see all the apps that can be used with CarPlay with your iPhone XR. Scroll all the way down on this screen and see whether there are More Apps to be added to the list on the top.
