Independent Safari tab volume control

I participate in a lot of Zoom/Webex/MS Teams meetings, and also leave up a Safari tab with work email/calendar. Some platforms are better than others regarding background mic noise cancellation. So I'll be sitting quietly in a meeting and my email/calendar tab will chime with something important, but everyone on the call can hear it. Most of the time in these meetings, I am having a conversation with several other participants and it's not feasible to constantly mute/unmute (because that also makes a beeping sound that carries through on certain platforms).

It's also not feasible to mute the email/calendar tab altogether, as there are occasions where I need to address an email, or be reminded about another event getting ready to start.

I would like to be able to turn the volume down on the mail/calendar tab, but still have my meeting volume at a higher level. Is this functionality that I have missed somewhere?

No. There is no way to control volume independently for different tabs.

You can offer Apple feedback about it and they may add the feature in a future update if enough people suggets the option.
