How to Delete a Workgroup I Didn’t Set Up

Need some help. I just set up my new Mac Air M2 and once I put in my new Apple ID from my new iPhone, a workgroup was created and the network settings change. For instance, now for updates, I have to go in and check all the updates possible, whereas before they were all selected. Also the blue-tooth automatically turns on now. And some things I try to do says it requires an administrator of my workgroup. But again, I don’t want to be in one. I found some sQulite files and some other strange aliases in the network directory. All the names are like AAAA-BBBB-CCCC. Also, there are several kernel files which it says I am not authorized to change or delete. It has Groups, Circles and Everybody. It says I’m not authorized to change their permissions. It looks like the Mac has been compromised. It’s brand new, given to me as a replacement for my Mac Air M1 because it was doing the same things.

Stop looking around in places you don’t understand.

There’s always a netbios workgroup in case you want to connect your Mac to Windows domain.

There are probably thousands of SQLITE databases. That is the standard backing store for almost all macOS applications.

there are probably many thousands of files with a unique ID as its name.

The only way you can install malware on a Mac is, if you actually install it yourself, providing an admin password to install the software

It cannot magically appear on your Mac
