Photo memories do not really delete

I want to delete a memory that was created automatically using my photos by Apple Photos in the “Memories” area. I’ve done the steps over and over but the memory still shows up in my featured photo widget on my home screen. How do I permanently delete a memory from Apple Photos??

The steps I’m taking:

Open photos app
Choose "for you"
Find memory in "Memories"
Tap the top three dots
Choose "delete memory"

Using iPhone 14 pro max iOS 16.6 (20G75)

Hi TobySp,

You mentioned that the memory still shows up in the Photos widget on your Home Screen. If you haven't already, delete the widget and then re-add it to see if the issue persists.
