Hi,

My current audio connector jack is behaving strangely. If there is nothing plugged in, the sound output shows that a headphone has been inserted and no sound is coming out from the internal speaker. But when I inserted an audio jack half way in, the internal speaker works. I suspect that the Audio Connector Jack Board With Flex Cable is faulty.

My question is, can I just disconnect the flex cable from my motherboard and get a USB bluetooth audio receiver for my speaker and connect to my imac via bluetooth instead?

Will the internal speaker work if I disconnect the flex cable from my motherboard? From my understanding, the flex cable is for the external output jack. The internal speaker is connected to the motherboard separately.

There is a micro switch inside of the headphone port that is ether stuck or broken.

I'm not sure if unplugging the cable will return the audio back to the internal speakers or not. That would depend on how that circuit is wired.

If you are going in to disconnect headphone port, then it makes sense to have a replacement.
