Printing poster size in Pages

Is there a way to print a 16x20 inch poster in Pages using 8.5x11 inch paper and taping several pages together?

Pages is not designed to be a poster printing application, and you may need to experiment with your suggested approach to gauge its feasibility.

There are several poster-oriented apps in the Mac App Store, among them SplitPrint. This is not a specific product recommendation from personal experience, just an example that may satisfy your printing requirements.

Hi Linda,

Yes. It is possible to create a layout that, when printed on paper, will allow some margins to be trimmed off and other margins placed underneath another page before taping together. I have used that technique many times!

Perhaps you could start with this:

Menu > View > Show Rulers.

Menu > View > Show Layout.

Document Margins: do those margins work for you?

More information may lead to a solution.

Does the poster have margins? If so, how large are the margins within the 16x20 inch poster?

Are you using a Word Processing document, or a Page Layout document? (Probably not important, but it may help us to help you.)

Regards,

Ian.

Thank you VikingOSX and Yellowbox for your replies. I have made the 16x20 poster in Pages but printing was the problem. So far, the best solution I have found without having to buy another application has been to export the PDF to Adobe Acrobat Reader for printing. Software MacKiev had the perfect solution in their Printshop program. However, they still do not have an upgrade for Mac. Reviews of the Broderbund and Encore versions of Printshop have not been very encouraging.
