Upgrade my 2013 iMac from High Sierra?

Hi - I have the iMac 27-inch Late 2013, for home use. (not gaming). 8 GB memory 1600 MHz DDR3. Currently High Sierra, Version 10.13.6. It has 2 (4 GB ea) memory slots available. 1TB SATA Disk, with 694 GB available.

I'm running into places where 10.13.6 is too low, and there aren't further any upgrades now.

Can anyone suggest which OS I should upgrade to? (I'll take it to a shop - )

Thanks for any help, I'd really appreciate it.

Cheers,

Lynne

A late 2013 iMac can be upgraded to Catalina 10.15.7 but no later. See: How to download and install macOS - Apple Support

Be aware that if you upgrade to Catalina 10.15 or later you will also need to update any non-Apple 32-bit apps. See: https://www.stclairsoft.com/Go64/

If you don't want to upgrade your macOS, for security reasons you should consider using a 3rd party internet browser that supports their current version with your older macOS. One example is Chrome if you have macOS 10.13 or higher. See: https://www.google.com/chrome/
