When I select outlook on the iPad screen I get a blank screen

Just got my iPad pro M2 and spending the morning trying to get set up. First I need to set up my already existing outlook email account. WHen I select outlook on the iPad screen I basically get a blank screen except for the word outlook top center, and cancel top left. No other options or actions that I can see.

Where do I go from here? Do I need to link to my microsoft account and set that up first? If so, How?

Followup question- since I don't have any email linked to the ipad currently, How will I know when I get a response from this forum?

I just realized that this was because I had no internet connection which confuses me because I linked to my home network and was connected prior to trying to set up outlook mail but, for whatever reason, my connection was lost.

Now I have apparently set up the mail box but not sure why my inbox is empty?

As MS Office/Outlook is not an Apple product and there are not as many Office users active here as one would think, I believe you will be better served by asking in Microsoft's Office forums. MS Office questions posted in Apple’s forums can linger here a long time without a useful response in some cases.

I believe you will find the contributors there knowledgeable and very helpful, much more so than MS's Windows-centric support documents.
