I have a macbook and imac desktop. I'd like for imovie projects to sync between the computers. How to do this?

Hi,

iMovie projects cannot be synced between computers. To sync they would need to go into the cloud. However, iMovie projects cannot exist independently of an iMovie library, and iMovie libraries cannot be stored in the cloud.

If you have the two computers side by side, you can create an iMovie library that stores only the one project, and then use a thumb drive or other external drive to transfer the library, or copy of it, back and forth as you work on the project. Both computers must be Macs. The external drive must be formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled) or APFS. Both computers must be using the same exact iMovie version that was used to create the project. Before transferring the library you shoud select the library name in the iMovie project sidebar and do a File/Consolidate Library Media. That is done to make sure that the library carries with it all media used in the project.
