Macbook Air 15'' M2 or Macbook Pro 13'' M2

Hi.

I got the Air 15'' this month but I'm not sure if I did any mistake.

Air 15'' has bigger screen, better screen, better resolution, MagSafe charging, better geekbench score, better camera etc. That's why I got the 15'' Air.

What do you think about those two macbook? Which one is better? I think 15'' Air is way better than the 13'' Pro.

The 13" MacBook Pro is very close to being a 13" MacBook Air with a Touch Bar, and without a MagSafe 3 port.

For Apple Silicon laptops, the real division is between

  • 13" and 15" MacBook Air; 13" MacBook Pro – entry-level machines with two USB-C (TB) ports that support a single external display
  • 14" and 16" MacBook Pro – machines with more ports, higher-end processors, the ability to drive two or more external displays, and miniLED-backlit displays

You might want to describe how you intend to use the MacBook, as that would help us steer you to the best solution for your needs.

For example, if you need dual external monitor support, then the MacBook Air is NOT the way to go...you'll need to move up to the 14" or 16" MacBook Pro for that.

If your needs involve a lot of high resolution video editing, then I'd suggest the MacBook Pro.

But if your needs involve common web browsing, email, photo editing, word processing, etc.....then the MacBook Air would be just fine. (Hope yours has 16GB of RAM, though, if you're doing any photo processing).

If you bought your MacBook Air in the US, you have a 14 day "grace period" in which to return it for a full refund. I don't know what the policies are for other countries, though.

I have 8-256 Macbook Air 15''

I know Pro is good at video editing etc.

But don't you think Air 15'' is better? Pro has Retina scren but Air has Liquid Retina screen and Air 15'' is better in geekbench scores. So Air 15 can be good at video editing too. Pro isn't better than the Air except fan. Pro has fan and Air is not.

But Air 15'' has better screen, bigger screen, newer screen, more port, MagSafe charging, better camera and sound system and better geekbench scores.

I think Air 15'' is way better than the Pro 13''.

I feel a better comparison would be with the 14" MacBook Pro rather than the 13".

I didn't mean to say the 15" MacBook Air isn't good for video editing. It will do it just fine, but will lag a bit compared to the 14" Pro, and could throttle down the CPU under heavy loads as the Air lacks a cooling fan. If you do a LOT of video editing, I'd still recommend the Pro...but for occasional video editing the Air is just fine.

But at the end of the day, it's your decision. 😄
