Sandisk Extreme Pro CF Express card reader not recognised by imac
Have searched but to no avail have found a solution. Card reader doesn't show mounted anywhere. This seems like a once common problem, haven't found the solution for me.

You will not see an empty card reader on the desktop or in Finder until there is a readable card inserted into it.
You should however, be able to see an empty card reader on the USB bus by going to About This Mac > System Report > USB in the Hardware section.
