F8 key doesn't play or pause video/music content

I cannot play or pause any video, music or podcast using the F8 key, regardless the keyboard I'm using (magic keyboard or the laptop). It simply doesn't work after some time using the MacBook Air. I've never had an issue like this on all of my prior MacBooks. By the way, I have a 2017 iMac running the same macOS Ventura 13.5.1 with no problem like this. It doesn't matter if it's a YouTube video, a song on Music or a Podcast. I already reset the content and configuration of the Mac and the problem persist.

If the other function keys do work, let's help to narrow this down a bit by seeing if the same behavior happens in a test user account. Here's how to create that new account, just in case: Add a user or group on Mac - Apple Support
