Double pressing power button to establish secure connection with touch id does not work

I am using a Magic Keyboard with a touch sensor connected to a Mac Mini Pro with M2 processor. I am unable to get Touch ID to work. I have pressed the Touch ID key at least 100 times with no success. I see that a few people online have had a similar problem. How do I resolve this issue?

Touch ID problem ? I have a difficult time with Touch ID. My configuration a Mac Mini M2 with an Apple Magic keyboard with touch ID en Ventura 13.4 sometimes stops with recognising the touch ID hold way work. I have to restart the Mac completely to get it working again ? Surely not very satisfying . I also removed the administered Touch-ID and restarted the machine and scanned a finger of mine again. Sur it did work then but never the whole time. Do I do something wrong Doris the software not OK. What to do that touch-ID works continually for years to come . Frankly it makes me somewhat nervous behind my own computer. Hopefully there is an answer for this.

Touch ID on Magic Keyboard stopped working after updating to Ventura It was working perfectly fine on Monterey and many months ago, after updating to Ventura, it just stopped working properly, unless... it is always wired to the Mac via the lightning cable. I tried everything I found online: deleting it from the bluetooth setting and reconnecting it solves it only temporary, until the Mac goes to sleep. This is a good example of how not always Apple products "just work"! If there is any other solution to make it work again, I'm glat to try. Thank you!
