Zooming in with "Record Stereo Sound" Ruins Concert Audio

I cannot begin to express how broken hearted I am learning the hard way. I understand the concept of zooming in and making it sound like you're appearing closer. I sat in the balcony on purpose for these amazing accoustics. I was happy to take my memories home with me... only to find out they're ruined!!!

I found out how to turn this feature off. However, please tell me there's some setting that will mathematically auto-correct the audio and restore it back to how it should've been captured.

Apple -- please do better!! I have seen that this feature has affected many. I trusted using my iPhone because apple has been known to use their camera for music videos and other events.... and now I'm left in disbelief with a special level of betrayal.
