Safe to charge my Apple Watch 6 after swimming in ocean

I accidentally wore my watch in the ocean briefly last night 🤦🏻‍♀️ I didn’t swim underwater, I was floating on a tube with my hands resting on the tube, but the surf was a bit rough and it got splashed multiple times. I’m still showing that it’s “ejecting water” this morning but it’s acting normally. I’m concerned about charging it when it’s still ejecting water. How long will it continue to eject water and is it okay to charge. I’m at 61% so I’m okay for a while.

Shallow swimming on series 6 is fine, though the seals do weaken with the years.

Go to Control Center by swiping up on the face.

Tap the water lock droplet icon if it is not already on

Then hold in the crown and it will boop boop boop and eject water although this is only from the speaker.

Repeat a couple of times.

If the watch does not react or the ejecting message remains then force restart the watch. ir Hold in crown and side button together until the white apple appears then release.

It would i only be a problem charging it if water had gotten into the works in which case the watch would be ruined.
