I have four devices that are HomeKit hubs. Only the HomePod Mini has Thread network support. When that hub is active, all of my thread devices work. When another device becomes the hub, the thread devices do not work.
How can I disable hub functionality on Apple TV and Apple HomePod to ensure that my Thread network is always active?
It doesn't seem to be possible to choose a preferred device. When one device stops working correctly I would guess some sort of polling action causes another capable device to take on the role. You can of course physically turn off everything but the HomePod that you want to be the hub, wait until it becomes active, then turn on the other devices. Every smart device in the home should be agnostic as to which device is in the home hub role. If that isn't the case then perhaps there is a connectivity issue that needs resolving, or a bug that needs reporting.
