I've owned several Mac notebooks with factory-installed batteries, both DP and SMP. Not a issue. The original Dynapack (DP) battery in my current Macbook Pro is now 11 years old and still has plenty of runtime for my needs. They are properly good batteries.

You have to be careful searching the SMP term. In addition to a manufacturer, SMP is also a technology for power management in rechargeable batteries used by a number of manufacturers. One highly placed search result for "smp" on large.net was rife with errors. Anyone can post anything on the internet.

I used to have the codes for those batteries. All I can find this morning is that the Coconut Battery app translates the "S" to "Simple" which I recall being part of the company name.
